Employee Spotlight: Get to know Tracy Thomas Tracy Thomas, Mortgage Loan Originator

1. What is your ACNB Bank story? 

I started in April 2007, as a Residential Loan Originator, with no experience in the mortgage industry, in a depressed market, and without an ACNB Bank presence in the Chambersburg/Franklin County area.  Whoa, what was I thinking?  Actually, I thought, I can do this with hard work and dedication.  I was determined to make myself and ACNB Bank successful. So, my first challenge was to get knowledge.  Knowledge is power, right!!  So off to Atlanta, Georgia I went to become a Certified Mortgage Planner (did I mention, I am scared to death to fly?). I have been a residential loan originator for 16 years now.  I love what I do and enjoy helping people achieve their goals of homeownership.  

I thank ACNB Bank for taking a chance with me and allowing me to be part of such a wonderful team!! 

2. What do you love about working here?

I absolutely love working with my coworkers. Everyone has such a kind heart and a desire to help others in a loving manner.   

3. What activities do you enjoy, outside of the office?

I love spending time with my family and friends, going to the beach, gardening, volunteering at my church, singing on the Praise Team, helping those in need with whatever tasks they may need. I enjoy spending time with the newest member of our family, Sammy, a 5-month-old Shorkie. I also love volunteering for the Habitat for Humanity. 

4. Why should people bank at a community bank?

“There is truly something special about ACNB Bank. Being a community bank is different than a lot of other financial institutions, where you may feel like a number.  With ACNB Bank, you mean so much more.  I love that decisions are made locally, where you get that personal experience, and are treated like family.” 

5. Share an interesting fact about yourself with us.

I am scared of heights and went zip lining and did a free fall!! That is when I officially became a tree hugger.
