Mark E. Blacksten Joins ACNB Bank

ACNB Bank recently welcomed Mark Blacksten as Executive Vice President/Maryland Market President.

ACNB Bank recently welcomed Mark E. Blacksten as Executive Vice President/Maryland Market President. In this role, he is transitioning into the oversight of ACNB Bank’s business strategy and customer service as current Executive Vice President/Maryland Market President Tom N. Rasmussen will be retiring on May 31, 2023. Mr. Blacksten is based at the Bank’s offices located at 2 North Market Street, Frederick, MD, and 222 East Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD.

Helt, ACNB Corporation and ACNB Bank President & Chief Executive Officer. “We believe he will be instrumental in helping ACNB Bank achieve its long-term objectives, while also providing valuable insight into our central Maryland markets where ACNB Bank has nine community banking offices in the counties of Carroll and Frederick and one loan office in Baltimore County. Mr. Blacksten’s understanding and passion for community banking and teamwork will complement our philosophy as we continue to build relationships and find solutions to serve our customers each and every day.” 

Mr. Blacksten has more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry, specializing in commercial lending, relationship management, collaborative leadership, team building and community engagement. He most recently served as Senior Vice President/Business Banking Regional Manager for M&T Bank, overseeing the central Maryland and southcentral Pennsylvania territories. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President/Market Area Executive for Bank of Hanover in Carroll County, MD and Senior Vice President/Commercial Lending Manager for Westminster Union/Mercantile Bank & Trust. Mr. Blacksten holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD, and a Bachelor of Science from University of Maryland Baltimore County in Baltimore, MD. 

Active in the local community, Mr. Blacksten currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees and several committees of Carroll Hospital Center Foundation in Westminster, MD, as well as the past chairperson for the affiliated BridgingLife Hospice, Dove House Expansion Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce in Frederick, MD. His prior community service included board membership with Carroll Hospice, Community Foundation of Carroll County, Inc., Carroll Community College Foundation, McDaniel College Student Grant Program, and United Way of Central Maryland. 

Recognized in the community for his volunteer leadership, Mr. Blacksten was the recipient of a Hospice Hero Award from BridgingLife Hospice in 2021, the President’s Business Partner of the Year Award from Frederick Community College in 2017, and the Bernard Cook Meritorious Leadership Award from the United Way of Central Maryland.  He and his family reside in Carroll County, MD.
