Employee Spotlight: Get to know Kimberly Wilhelm Kimberly Wilhelm, Producing Sales Manager, Residential Mortgage Loan Originator

June 23, 2024
What is your ACNB story?
After graduating from Gettysburg High School, I began my lending career with American General Finance as a CSR. I learned all aspects of consumer lending and accepted a job offer with a community savings bank in Baltimore, MD as a Jr. Underwriter. Over the next 30 years, I focused on my career, continuing to learn and advancing to management roles in Retail Lending Departments for Maryland Community Banks. I had the opportunity to work with some great leaders who shared their wealth of knowledge of the mortgage industry. After the most recent merger, I decided to take some time off to rejuvenate and contemplate my next steps, convinced my banking career had ended.
In 2022, a friend informed me that ACNB Bank was looking for a mortgage originator for the Gettysburg area, believing my extensive knowledge of loan processes would be perfect for the position. I decided to give it a try, as I missed the business. In November 2023, I was offered the position of Producing Sales Manager, which I was initially reluctant to take. We have a fantastic team of originators across our region and constantly work together to improve our products and services to be the financial provider of choice within our communities!
What do you love about working here?
I am so thankful for the opportunity given to me by ACNB Bank—I LOVE what I do! Working directly with customers is incredibly rewarding. I am part of a homeowner’s journey, whether they are a first-time homebuyer, transitioning to retirement and downsizing, building their dream home, or refinancing for various reasons. I walk them through the process from the initial discussion to attending the settlement. These are not just names in our system; I am building lasting relationships and truly care about each and every one of them!
What activities do you enjoy outside of the office?
I am on the Board of the Adams County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, where I assist in reviewing applicants for family selection and volunteer on home projects. We are a small chapter with big hearts, helping those in the County attain affordable housing.
This was my first-year volunteering for the Junior Achievement YES program. At Gettysburg Middle School, I was scheduled to teach kids about budgeting and finances. However, at the last minute, they needed a volunteer to switch gears, and I ended up in “Manufacturing.” Not only did the kids learn, but I also learned how Starbucks manufactures and ships its coffee beans. It was a great experience, and I look forward to next year.
ACNB Bank participates in many community activities, but one of my favorites is walking in the Gettysburg Halloween parade. Handing out candy to all the kids along the route is always fun, and seeing faces you haven’t seen in years! Bowling for Big Brothers Big Sisters was a great chance to raise money and spend time with co-workers.
Why should people bank at ACNB Bank?
“I have the pleasure of working with the branches and visiting them often. As I sit in those branches, I listen to the conversations between the customers and branch staff. Our branch staff knows each of their customers, welcomes them by name, and asks about their families with a level of personal detail that comes from truly caring about the community.
At ACNB Bank, everyone works together to provide a plethora of services in one stop! Not only do we offer traditional banking products, consumer and mortgage loans, but we also have talented Commercial and Agricultural Lending Divisions that allow us to consider all options to find the best fit for each customer. Additionally, we have a Wealth Management affiliate and an Insurance Services affiliate.”
What are some of your favorite local activities/hobbies/enjoyment?
When I am not working, family and friends bring me the most joy! I have been with my partner, Carl, for almost 30 years, and we have raised a beautiful daughter, Kara. I love to travel with family and friends and look forward to our annual trips. I am always looking for the annual bucket list concert! In the summer months, you will find me in the pool on the weekends, soaking up rays and reading a book. We enjoy cooking, especially with fresh veggies from our garden. If we go out, it’s usually to Maryland Mallet, Rock Salt, or Liberatore’s.
