1. What is your ACNB story?
While looking for work closer to home, I came across a floating teller position with ACNB Bank. I applied for the position, and had an interview. Little did I know at that moment my job title would be changing! While interviewing, it was brought to my attention that I may have had more experience, training, and knowledge for a position that would be coming available in a different department. That evening, I had applied online for the position that was suggested to me. A few days later, I had a second interview for that new position. Within a few days, I had my offer from ACNB Bank and happily accepted. 5 years later, here I am loving my role as the Contact Center Lead Specialist!
2. What do you love about working here?
I love that my team is like family to me and not just co-workers. I love that ACNB is a community bank and everyone is local to the same area. As a bank family, we enjoy activities and events throughout the year. The Contact Center is a great team and it is a place where I feel like I belong. I like that my co-workers believe in me enough to freely come to me for assistance and that my Manager values me as an employee, person and friend.
3. What activities do you enjoy doing outside of the office?
I love the beach, so if I have any opportunity to go, that’s where I will be! My family of 5 keeps me pretty busy and on my toes. I love any type of socialization with my family and friends. In my spare time I enjoy painting and working with epoxy.
4. Why should people bank at a community bank?
I believe it is important to have a community bank because you experience more of a family/friend vibe. We are devoted to our communities and try to participate and support local organizations within the Bank’s footprint. With a community bank, you are not just an account number, you are a neighbor. With my position at the Bank, it is nice to hear from customers when they call in that they are so happy, and surprised sometimes to talk to a person and not just push buttons to hear a “canned” response.
5. What are some of your favorite local activities or restaurants?
My favorite local activities are the wine fests and of course the National Apple Harvest. I would have to say my favorite local restaurant is Pizza Garden in New Oxford PA, my favorite places to get a sweet treat is Tropical Treat and Half Pint Creamery!
