1. What is your Bank story?
I have been with the bank for 15 years. I started as a part-time teller, then a full-time teller, then a dual position of teller/specialist, then an assistant manager position, then supervisor, and now community banking manager. I started out as a little 18-year-old who had no clue about banking. I have been given many opportunities to grow within the Bank. Growth that came with challenges and rewards that have helped me get to where I am today.
2. What do you love about working here?
What I love about working at the Bank is the relationships you gain with your co-workers. We spend so much time together that they become your second family. I also love that everyone I have encountered at the Bank, whether in the branches or other departments, have been amazing! The Bank truly has amazing employees that work together toward a common goal.
3. What activities do you enjoy doing outside of the office?
I love spending time with my family. We often get together and have family game nights. We all have a competitive spirit so it is always interesting. I also love taking my son to new places for him to experience. I have always wanted him to have the same opportunities I had as a kid and more. I love to go to the movies and discovering new places to eat. I just picked up pickleball as a hobby in the last year. I am by no means good at it, but enjoy learning the game!
4. Why should people bank at a community bank?
People should bank at a community bank because when they come in, they are not just receiving a receipt for the transaction they just did. They are catching up with the employees who are asking how their family is doing. They are having conversations about their day to day lives. We don’t just create business, we create bonds with our customers.
5. What are some of your favorite local activities or restaurants?
Some places I like to go to eat at are Sabor De Cuba in Frederick, MS (the Vaca Frita is my favorite), C&D Bar & Grill in New Oxford, PA (their Pineapple Foster dessert is delicious), and RockSalt Grille in Westminster, MD (their shrimp salad is one of my favorites). I also like to go to different breweries and wineries. Some of my favorites are Sign of the Horse Brewery in Hanover, PA, Springfield Manor Winery in Thurmont, MD and Harpers Ferry Brewing, VA.
