Employee Spotlight: Get to know Aaron Smith Aaron Smith, Community Banking Operations Manager

January 24, 2024
1. What is your ACNB story?
I joined ACNB Bank in November of 2020 as a Community Banking Specialist of the Western Adams/Franklin region. Transitioning from the administrative medical field as well as non-profit work, this was quite a change! In 2022, I took a role as the Community Banking Staffing Coordinator and later in the same year moved into the Community Banking Operations Administrator role. Since September of 2023, I have had the absolute pleasure of being the Community Banking Operations Manager. On a daily basis, I get the great opportunity to work with all of the phenomenal people within our Community Banking offices and departments across ACNB Bank.
2. What do you love about working here?
It is something special to be sitting at a local restaurant that my family enjoys and knowing that ACNB Bank is in partnership with that business, wanting them to succeed, and I get to work for that very Bank! ACNB Bank has a great team, individuals who have been banking for a long time or others that are just starting off. It’s a team made up of many different perspectives and backgrounds that creates a great culture to be a part of. ACNB Bank’s geographical footprint is where I live, work, play, and volunteer.
3. What activities do you enjoy doing outside of the office?
I enjoy being outdoors and all things fitness; caring for a few ornery chickens, hiking, running, Olympic lifting. My wife and I are coffee and cocktail enthusiasts, there’s nothing like 18g of freshly grinded coffee beans under 8 bars of pressure to craft the perfect espresso. When indoors, it’s reading or watching Penguins hockey (Go Pens!). I also have the joy of serving as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Adams Rescue Mission and leading worship at Swift Run Church.
4. Why should people bank at a community bank?
“You are committed to. You’re not just an account number, a community bank will know you by your name and wants to build a relationship for you to succeed, because those who work at ACNB Bank live in these very footprints and markets that ACNB serves. No matter if you’re a first-time business owner, large corporation, or a retiree – ACNB Bank wants you to do well.”
5. What are some of your favorite local activities or restaurants?
You can find my wife and I hiking the Gettysburg Battlefield trails or Maryland state parks, visiting all the local breweries and coffee shops, or pizza and cocktails at Upper Crust in Downtown Gettysburg.
