Community Shred Day 2020

Community Shred Day Event Scheduled

Shred Day Event for 2020

Posted on Aug 21, 2020

Due to an amazing response to ACNB Bank’s Annual Community Shred Event publicity efforts, we are now at capacity for the shred truck this year.

It’s time to clean out those old documents and files and bring them to ACNB Bank’s Community Shred Day! This event is open to ACNB Bank customers and Adams County residents and takes place Saturday, September 19, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon at the ACNB Corporation Operations Center parking lot located at 100 V-Twin Drive, Gettysburg.

You can bring up to five boxes of documents (based upon a measurement of approximately 11” x 11” x 18”) per household. A “donation” of $2.00 per box will be accepted to benefit the United Way of Adams County. If you would like to participate, you MUST register in advance.

Community Shred Day 2020
Date: Saturday, September 19, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
Location: ACNB Corporation Operations Center, 100 V-Twin Drive, Gettysburg, PA
Registration deadline: Tuesday, September 15
To register: call 717-334-3161, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

All participants must register for this event by calling the ACNB Bank Customer Contact Center at 717.334.3161, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. At that time, our staff will request that you sign up for a time slot to drop off your documents and for the number of boxes you plan to bring. The shred truck reached full capacity last year, so a reservation is essential. Please note we are unable to take any reservations through the Bank’s Facebook page or via email.

COVID-19 Guidance: When you arrive at Community Shred, please wear a mask and remain in your car for the duration of your visit. We are requesting that you place your shred materials in the trunk of your car instead of the backseat to help maintain safe social distancing. The Bank’s staff will remove the items and place them in the All-Shred unit on your behalf. Materials will be removed from your car once it’s your turn to pull up next to the All-Shred truck.

All documents will be shredded by All-Shred, Inc., an on-site document shredding and recycling company based in Frederick, Maryland. The shredding takes place inside a secure area within All-Shred’s truck. The shredded materials are then recycled and reused to manufacture household paper products. To make things easy, documents do not need to be sorted, and staples and paper clips do not need to be removed.

Food Drive

As you’re getting items together to shred, plan to also bring non-perishable food to donate to the United Way of Adams County’s “Bag the Bounty” food drive. If you choose to bring food, please check the expiration dates on the items to make sure they have not expired and place them in the trunk of your car/truck along with your shred materials.

We look forward to seeing you on Community Shred Day 2020!
