In an area as vibrant as the one we live in, it may be hard to believe that one out of five adults and children go hungry every day in Adams County. The pandemic has hit the food pantries, shelters and soup kitchens very hard as they work to keep their pantries stocked for the benefit of low-income families, unemployed and underemployed people, and individuals on modest fixed-incomes --- including the elderly and people with disabilities.
These organizations are experiencing a dramatic increase in the number of families and individuals who rely on these programs for their daily meals. Local residents need our help at this time of COVID-19 more than ever before.
On October 1, ACNB Bank will join United Way of Adams County and local business partners Gettysburg Times and Kennie's Marketplace for the 14th Annual Bag the Bounty Food Drive. The food drive runs throughout the month of October and will benefit 16 food programs serving the Adams County and Hanover area.
The following ACNB Bank offices with lobbies in the Adams County and Hanover area will serve as a drop-off food collection site. These offices include:
- North Gettysburg
- West Gettysburg
- Carroll Valley
- New Oxford
- East Berlin
- North Hanover
Please consider lending a helping hand by picking up a few extra items when you go grocery shopping this month and visiting one of our offices in Adams County and Hanover to drop off your donation.
Great things happen when we live UNITED! Thank you, in advance, for your support of this community-wide effort.
