Donate new school supplies to help kids in our local communities! ACNB Bank is sponsoring four Back to School Supply Drives in southcentral Pennsylvania this summer, including:
- Adams County: Back to School Project. United Way of Adams County. July 1 – 31.
- Cumberland County: Fill the Bus. United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County and Project Share. July 1 – 29.
- Franklin County: United Way of Franklin County. July 1 – 31.
- York County: United Way of York County. July 1 – August 20. This organization is coordinating the distribution of materials through the local school districts.
Your donations of new school supplies, retail gift cards (Walmart or Target), or check contributions will provide students with the tools they need to succeed as they begin the school year. If you choose to write a check, please make it payable to one of the community organizations listed above and bring it to an ACNB Bank community banking office. Find a location near you that indicates the lobby is open.
In Adams County alone, we’ve learned the need is great as shared by United Way of Adams County:
More than 47% of school-age children in Adams County are eligible to participate in the free or reduced lunch program (2020 National School Lunch Program Report). Many of these families struggle to purchase school supplies for their children each year. We all know that our children need adequate supplies to be successful in school. Last year, with the generous support of hundreds of donors, United Way of Adams County raised $2,000 in monetary donations and received hundreds of school supply donations which enabled us to help more than 500 students.
