ACNB Bank recently presented the 2021 Volunteer of the Year Award to Nathan E. Lightner, Vice President/Senior Commercial Loan Officer, in recognition of his community involvement. The Four Chaplains Memorial of York County and New Birth of Freedom Council of Boy Scouts of America each received a $500 contribution from ACNB Bank to acknowledge Mr. Lightner’s exemplary volunteer service.

In celebration of ACNB Bank’s 160th Anniversary in 2017, the Bank introduced the Volunteer of the Year Award to recognize staff members who embrace the true spirit of giving back to the community as volunteers. In its fifth year, this award program also serves to highlight the important work of the community organizations represented by the award winners.

“ACNB Bank’s 2021 honoree, Nathan Lightner, serves in leadership volunteer positions with multiple organizations in our market area and truly embodies the spirit of community banking at ACNB Bank, which includes lending his business expertise and other important skills to benefit others,” said James P. Helt, ACNB Bank President & Chief Executive Officer.

“A member of the ACNB Bank staff since 2018, Mr. Lightner has worked in the banking industry in southcentral Pennsylvania for 37 years, with 34 years dedicated to commercial lending. As Vice President/Senior Commercial Loan Officer, he is responsible for building commercial customer relationships by providing commercial loans, deposit accounts, and other banking services to assist in the operation and growth of a customer’s business. Mr. Lightner is based at the Bank’s York Loan Office, located at 1601 South Queen Street, York, PA, and serves commercial customers primarily in York County.

Mr. Lightner received ACNB Bank’s 2021 Volunteer of the Year Award in recognition of his volunteer leadership and service with a number of local community organizations, contributing a total of 350 hours of his time in 2020. He selected the Four Chaplains Memorial of York County and New Birth of Freedom Council of Boy Scouts of America as the recipients of the Bank’s contribution to these organizations in his honor.

“As a board member and the treasurer for the Four Chaplains Memorial of York County, Nathan Lightner’s volunteer leadership has brought deep commitment to the organization and its mission, coupled with a spirit of always looking for and being open to new ways of expanding our success. He has done a terrific job of engaging new sponsors, helping to facilitate some great speakers for our event, and sharing his passion for the cause in the local community,” said Pastor Glenn Miller, Four Chaplains Memorial of York County’s Board President.

“Nathan Lightner serves as the co-chair of the Sporting Clays Shoot that benefits the New Birth of Freedom Council of Boy Scouts of America. Under Nathan’s leadership, this event raises $60,000 annually for local scouting programs, which benefits more than 8,000 youth members. The Council is grateful for Nathan’s continued volunteer leadership with this important fundraising event,” said Brian DeBease, New Birth of Freedom Council of Boy Scouts of America’s Director of Development.
