Helping Hands Give Back

Food Drive for families in need

Posted on Nov 02, 2020

ACNB Bank will host a food drive to benefit the Big Spring Area Food Bank at the Bank’s Newville Office at 39 Carlisle Road from November 2 through 30. Last year, more than 300 pounds of nonperishable food items, cleaning supplies, and baby items were collected.

To kick off the food drive, ACNB Bank made a $300 contribution, which was acknowledged with a check presentation at the Bank’s Newville Office.

"We're committed to serving as an ongoing partner of the Big Spring Area Food Bank to help address issues related to hunger in our shared community,” said Doug Lindsay, ACNB Bank Assistant Vice President/Community Banking Manager.

The Big Spring Area Food Bank is based at the Big Spring United Lutheran Church at 100 Crossroads School Road in Newville. Food is distributed once a month to individuals and families in the Big Spring School District who are in need. The organization serves an average of 150 families—which is about 400 individuals each month.
