ACNB Bank is hosting three food drives in southcentral Pennsylvania this fall in support of ACNB Helping Hands. These drives will benefit the following community organizations and special initiatives:
- Adams County: Bag the Bounty Food Drive - United Way of Adams County, September 1 – October 29. This community-wide effort benefits 19 food programs in Adams County and Hanover.
- Cumberland County: Big Spring Area Food Bank, October 1 – 29.
- Franklin County: SCCAP Chambersburg Food Pantry, October 1 – 29.
Why we’re lending a helping hand.
As a community bank, we recognize the pandemic has hit the food pantries, shelters and soup kitchens exceptionally hard as they work to keep their shelves stocked for the benefit of low-income families, unemployed and underemployed people, and individuals on modest fixed-incomes---including the elderly and people with disabilities. For this reason, we are encouraging our customers and staff members, as well as other local residents, to lend a helping hand to those that need it most in our local communities.
Every donation makes a difference to local families.
For many years, ACNB Bank has supported the Bag the Bounty Food Drive in Adams County, which takes place this year from September 1 to October 29. In 2020 alone, our community bank collected a total of 2,098 pounds of nonperishable food, cleaning supplies, and other household items that were donated by customers and staff members. This year, we are expanding our efforts to help even more families in the communities we serve by hosting two additional food drives in October in the counties of Cumberland and Franklin.
Committed to you and to helping those in need.
We have established a goal to collect 2,500 pounds of nonperishable food, cleaning supplies, and other household items this year.
It’s easy to participate.
Simply pick up a few extra items at the grocery store while running regular errands and drop them off at any one of ACNB Bank’s convenient locations in the counties of Adams, Cumberland, Franklin and York with lobbies open at this time.
