ACNB Bank Kicks Off Fall Season with Food Drives

ACNB Bank Kicks Off Fall Season with Food Drives

Posted on Aug 19, 2022

ACNB Bank is hosting three food drives in southcentral Pennsylvania this fall in support of ACNB Helping Hands. These drives will benefit the following community organizations and special initiatives:

Why we’re lending a helping hand.

As a community bank, we recognize the ongoing pandemic and challenging economy have hit the food pantries, shelters and soup kitchens exceptionally hard as they work to keep their shelves stocked for the benefit of low-income families, unemployed and underemployed people, and individuals on modest fixed-incomes---including the elderly and people with disabilities. For this reason, we are encouraging our customers and staff members, as well as other local residents, to lend a helping hand to those that need it most in our local communities.

Every donation makes a difference to local families.

For 16 years, ACNB Bank has supported the Bag the Bounty Food Drive in Adams County, which takes place this year from September 1 to October 31. We are also hosting two additional food drives in October in the counties of Cumberland and Franklin to benefit more families in our market area. In 2021 alone, our community bank collected a total of 2,400 pounds of nonperishable food, cleaning supplies, and other household items that were donated by customers and staff members through this Helping Hands initiative.

Committed to you and to helping those in need.

We have established a goal to collect 2,600 pounds of nonperishable food, cleaning supplies, and other household items this year.

This year’s most needed items include canned fish and meats, canned and boxed meals, canned soups and stews, canned fruits and vegetables, rice and pasta, boxed cereals, fruit juice, cake and muffin mixes, peanut butter and jelly, powdered shelf-stable milk, baby food and diapers, dish and laundry detergent, cleaning products, toilet paper and paper towels, shampoo and conditioner, bath soap and deodorant, and toothpaste and brushes.

It’s easy to participate.

Simply pick up a few extra items at the grocery store while running regular errands and drop them off at any one of ACNB Bank’s convenient locations with lobbies in the counties of Adams, Cumberland and Franklin.
