ACNB Bank recognizes the positive impact of the community involvement and volunteerism embraced by the Bank’s 364 employees working in southcentral Pennsylvania and central Maryland.
According to James P. Helt, ACNB Bank President & CEO, “As a community bank, ACNB Bank is very much at the heart of community life in our business footprint --- supporting those organizations and programs that make the markets we serve desirable places to live, work and play. Our employees serve as dedicated volunteers and leaders with many charitable, civic, educational and professional organizations throughout the year as representatives of the Bank or on their own time. I am truly grateful for this spirit of volunteerism and culture of giving we enjoy at ACNB Bank.”
In 2018, ACNB Bank’s employees supported 186 community organizations in the Bank’s primary market areas and collectively contributed 7,243 volunteer hours, which are valued at $176,367 in Pennsylvania as designated by the industry standard set by www.independentsector.org.
In addition, Bank staff members supported the local community by coordinating a number of drives and collections, raising funds to benefit local organizations, and educating youth and adults on the importance of developing sound financial skills. In 2018 alone, the Bank’s employees participated in collecting 380 toys, 2,939 pounds of food, cleaning supplies and other household items, 272 coats, and more than 800 school supply items; raising $36,289 to benefit local community organizations; helping 153 local residents shred 7,250 pounds of confidential documents; and, delivering financial literacy presentations to 1,057 students and adults.
