Community Shred & Electronic Recycling Day 2026 - Gettysburg ACNB Bank's Community Shred & Electronic Recycling Day in Gettysburg

August 5, 2026

It’s time to clean out those old documents and files and bring them to ACNB Bank’s Community Shred Day! This event is open to ACNB Bank customers and Adams County residents and takes place Saturday, September 12, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon at the ACNB Corporation Operations Center parking lot located at 100 V-Twin Drive, Gettysburg.

For paper shredding, you can bring up to five boxes of documents (based upon a measurement of approximately 11” x 11” x 18”) per household of confidential documents such as those that contain highly personal, financial and medical information. Please recognize the shred truck could fill to capacity prior to 12:00 noon. A “donation” of $2.00 per box will be accepted to benefit the United Way of Adams County. If you would like to participate in this event, you MUST register in advance.

NEW THIS YEAR!

We are partnering with Omega ECycles, an electronics recycling and data destruction company, for you to bring your old and unused electronics. For electronic recycling, each household may bring up to 10 items from the approved list below. Please note this is for residential recycling only. Commercial businesses looking to recycle electronics can reach out to Omega ECycles to schedule a free pickup.

Additional Details

When you arrive at Community Shred, please remain in your car for the duration of your visit. We are requesting that you place your shred materials in the trunk of your car or the back seat. The Bank’s staff will remove the items and place them in the All-Shred unit on your behalf. Materials will be removed from your car once it is your turn to pull up next to the All-Shred truck. All documents will be shredded by All-Shred, Inc., an on-site document shredding and recycling company based in Frederick, Maryland. The shredding takes place inside a secure area within All-Shred’s truck. To make things easy, documents do not need to be sorted, and staples and paper clips do not need to be removed.

If you have electronic items, we ask that you remain in your car and the Bank’s staff will remove items and place them on Omega’s truck. The destruction does not happen on-site. Once collected, electronics are sorted, dismantled, and processed. Usable components are refurbished, while non-reusable materials are broken down and recycled into raw materials like metals, plastics, and glass. Omega ECycles is HIPAA compliant. They provide free, state-of-the-art data destruction services for hard drives, server drives, solid state media, cell phones, CDs, DVDs and backup tapes, ensuring any sensitive data left on the devices is destroyed. To learn more about how Omega recycles, visit their website.

In addition to paper shredding, we are offering Electronic Recycling during the same time by Omega ECycles.
