MAY 2008

ADAMS COUNTY OFFICE OF AGING SPRING FLING

The Adams County Office of Aging conducted another successful event dedicated to senior citizens in the Adams County area. This annual event, called the Spring Fling, gives seniors the opportunity to mix and mingle with friends, visit vendor booths, have lunch, and play bingo. Over 400 seniors attended the event. The Bank has participated in the Spring Fling nearly every year since its inception. Bank staff members set up a booth and enjoyed lunch with the attendees.

HANOVER YMCA CORPORATE CHALLENGE

May 2 marked the introduction of the Annual Hanover YMCA Corporate Challenge. Local businesses were invited to come together for a day to compete against one another in fun-filled events and show their support for the YMCA. The Bank entered a team of nine employees, who participated in six different events. These included relay races, kickball, dodgeball, sand volleyball, tug-of-war and a final mystery event, which turned out to be an obstacle course. Much fun was had by all!

RELAY FOR LIFE

For the fifth year in a row, the Bank participated in Relay for Life, sponsored by the American Cancer Society. And probably for the fifth year in a row, rain made its mark on the event! It took place on May 16 and 17, and despite the mud, it was an inspirational time. The Bank had three teams registered, for a total of 43 employees. The teams' efforts were dedicated to a retired employee of the Bank who passed away from cancer earlier this year in January. The team raised a total of $4,722. Overall, $6,322 was given to the American Cancer Society through the team's fundraising and the Bank's contribution.
