You may have heard of a new rule for financial institutions to have customers opt in to allow overdrafts to continue to be paid on ATM or debit card transactions. An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction, but Adams County National Bank pays it anyway. We cover overdrafts through our standard overdraft practices in order to help our customers cover an unexpected expense or avoid the embarrassment that may be caused by a recordkeeping error.
