ADAMS COUNTY NATIONAL BANK
SPONSORS THIRD SHREDDING EVENT
GETTYSBURG, PA, October 9 --- Adams County National Bank's third community shred event took place on Saturday, September 19. The Bank is pleased to provide the community with another opportunity to safely discard old, personal, confidential documents.
Each shred event has been greeted with tremendous response from the local community. The Bank, in conjunction with the shredding and recycling firm, Shred-it, and the assistance of the Adams County Department of Environmental Services, welcomed numerous community members to the event on Saturday. Over 1,000 pounds of documents were shredded and will be recycled to manufacture household paper products.
As with past events, this was free to the general public. Attendees were simply asked to register ahead of time, and a goodwill offering was accepted on behalf of the Land Conservancy of Adams County and the United Way of Adams County. $402 was raised, with $201 going to the Land Conservancy of Adams County and $201 going to United Way of Adams County.
“We are pleased to once again offer this opportunity to help our community,” said Gary Rappoldt, Vice President of Commercial Lending for the Bank. “It's rewarding to know that we helped keep 1,000 pounds of old documents from being put in a landfill.”
Mr. Rappoldt continued, “We are very grateful for the help and support of Bicky Redman, Director of the Department of Environmental Services and Co-Coordinator of the Forest Legacy Preservation program for the County of Adams. She and her staff volunteered time to help make this event a success. We could not have done it without them.”
