GETTYSBURG, PA, September 25---ACNB Bank's seventh Community Shred Event took place on Saturday, September 14. Held in conjunction with the United Way of Adams County's Day of Caring, Shred gives the community the chance to safely shred and discard old confidential documents.

The Bank, partnering with the shredding and recycling firm, All-Shred Inc., welcomed numerous community members to the event at its Operations Center and office located at 100 V-Twin Drive, Gettysburg. Over 5,600 pounds of documents were shredded, and will be recycled.

As with previous events, Shred was free to the public. Attendees simply registered ahead of time, and a goodwill offering was accepted on behalf of the United Way of Adams County. A total of $863.50 was raised and donated to the United Way. Non-perishable food was also collected for the United Way's upcoming Bag the Bounty food drive.

"We're glad to bring Shred back for another year, and support the United Way of Adams County at the same time," said Helen A. Jahn, Vice President & Corporate Relations Officer of ACNB Bank. "It's a great opportunity for people to clean out their files and get rid of old documents safely and securely, in order to ensure their private information remains protected. The United Way does so much for our local community...we're happy to give back to them by collecting donations and non-perishable food at Shred."
